No. RemoteDune runs in any modern browser on phone, tablet or laptop. Students can optionally install it as a home-screen app (PWA) with one tap — no app store, no review process, no updates to chase.
Yes — privacy and security are built in from the ground up. Each school runs in its own isolated tenant so data never crosses between schools. All traffic is HTTPS with modern TLS. Passwords are bcrypt-hashed, sessions use signed httpOnly cookies, and admin actions are scoped to the role that performed them. We don't sell data, don't run third-party ad trackers, and exports stay on your device. Hosting is in Europe and designed to meet GDPR expectations — schools remain the data controller at all times.
RemoteDune is served from a global edge network, and the student-facing pages are cached and served as static HTML wherever possible. On a 4G phone the daily schedule typically loads in under a second. There's no spinner-first admin shell — it's built for classroom speed, not enterprise bloat.
We use state-of-the-art LLMs for short classroom content — not generic machine translation. Teachers can review and override any translation manually at any time, and the original English stays alongside every translated field.
